Favorite Science Fiction TV Show – Dr. Who

I appreciate the guest post, Ignacio Phillips

I must admit that I am perhaps the worlds largest Dr. Who fan. The program is filled with adventure, twisted plots, changing characters and endless possibilities. It provides a sense of hope, something that we all need ever once in a while.

As an American I can only watch Dr. Who on my satellite TV or www.expertsatellite.com since it is only broadcast in England. I have even set my DVR to record the program in the event that I am not home to watch the program.

You must watch every Dr. Who adventure to get the overall effect of the program. Each episode has details that reveal something from the past and hints for the future. The story line is well written. Over the course of a season you can watch the events unfold and begin to understand some of the things from previous seasons. The season finale is always superior, and the anticipation for the next season is intense.

Dr. Who travels through time, watching events unfold as they must occur and ensures that nothing happens to his favorite alien race – the humans. With his companion, Dr. Who saves the universe one planet at a time.

Pardon Services Makes it Possible to Cross the Canada – United States Border

If you’re a Canadian citizen who wants to travel to the U.S., but you didn’t think it was possible because of a past crime, there is hope. A company called Pardon Services has been helping people receive pardons since 1994. There may be various waiting periods, depending on the crime, but a waiver makes it possible for people to cross the border.

Once a pardon has been issued, records are sealed and no one will have access to previous information including federal authorities and police agencies. I don’t want to think that someone who has committed a serious crime would be allowed to come and go wherever they please, which is why I’m glad to see that there are long waiting periods for certain crimes. Some people, however, were convicted of lesser offenses and just want to travel and live their lives like anyone else. They might have family in another country, and it would be a shame if they weren’t able to live a normal life because of an incident in their past.

Photo Restoration Can Bring History to Life

Photo restoration has made it possible to keep memories alive for many people. It’s amazing to see what can be done to bring a picture back to life, so to speak. It’s also incredible to see how photos can be altered without making it look like anything has been done to them. You can even have someone taken out of a picture if you have a picture that you want to keep, but you’d like it even more if someone wasn’t in it! Depending on the quality of the photo, pictures can be enlarged to poster size and mounted so you can hang them on your wall or use them for a business presentation.

My dad was a photographer and owned his own studio for many years, so I understand how important pictures are to people. Since he’s passed away, I treasure the pictures that I have of him even more, and I’m thankful that pictures can be restored so they can be seen by generations to come. It seems like there’s one person at every family function who takes a picture of everything, and it might be a little annoying at the time, but those could turn out to be the pictures that future generations will see, so smile and enjoy the moment.

Cute Fleece Socks for Flip-Flops

I love flip-flops, and I would wear them all year round if I could. I usually wear them until it’s so cold outside that I finally have to break down and wear my boots or other shoes. While I was looking around online for some new flip-flops, I found these cute flip-flop socks that are made to be worn with these shoes. These socks will keep my feet warm when I just want to throw on my flip-flops and go.

It’s fun to wear unique socks, and these fleece socks come in lots of fun colors. They even make them with bright colored stripes. Those are my daughter’s favorite pair! You can also find them in neutral colors such as brown, black, blue, and ivory so you could wear them every day.

These socks look so cute with jeans and flip-flops. They’re different from other toe socks because they only have a slit to seperate the big toe, not each individual toe. I wouldn’t recommend socks and sandals with shorts, but then again, everyone has their own style! Since these socks are made of fleece, they’re perfect for cooler weather when you need something to keep your feet warm, but you’re not ready to put away your flip-flops.

Funeral Planning Provides Peace of Mind

Funeral planning isn’t something that any of us want to think about, but it is a reality that we all have to deal with. It isn’t going to be any easier for loved ones to deal with when the time comes, but it could make it a little less stressful for family members if arrangements have already been made.

Planning ahead is also a good way for your family to know what type of funeral you want to have. Ideally, most of us would like to live forever and skip the funeral altogether, but that’s just not the way it is. Just like everything today, the cost of funerals is on the rise, and prepaying for a funeral will guarantee the costs. If there aren’t enough funds in your prepaid funeral plan to cover the costs at the time of death, your funeral will be provided using the available funds. Planning a funeral is definitely not the most fun thing in the world, but it can actually help you feel better knowing that things are taken care of and your final wishes will be carried out.

An Environmentally Conscious Vancouver Cafe

Food is so much more than something that sustains our bodies. Families gather around the table and discuss their day during a meal, and friends get together and talk about everything while they’re eating. In business situations, food can be an excellent conversation starter when meeting with new clients. If you’re looking for a Vancouver cafe with great food that offers something to please everyone, don’t miss the Take 5 Cafe. Their catering service provides healthy meals that will please guests at any type of gathering.

People are becoming more conscious of the environment, and the Take 5 Cafe supports this effort. Their coffee is produced in a sustainable facility and every batch is tested for quality and taste.  Good food can create an atmosphere of fun and relaxation, so it’s important to for businesses to provide quality food at any catered event.

I can never miss an episode of Snapped!

Thanks for the post from Hal Potter

If you are like me and like true crime shows, I suggest you check out Snapped! on the Oxygen Channel. You will not be able to get up off the couch! Snapped! is a true crime tv show with a twist. All of the so called guilty people are all female! You would not believe what these women will go through to get revenge. Some are just outright crazy.

I like watching this show on my satellite TV channels in Arizona. It comes on various times throughout the week. I can’t give you the days and times because they do vary. The tv show usually comes down to the title of the show. These women usually come to a breaking point where they basically snap. Some topics are the infamous cheating boyfriend or husband and the wife or girlfriend ends up killing him or fatal attraction type scenes. Other scenarios are where women kill other women for their unborn child or women who kill their families for money. When I sit down for this tv show, I’m glued to the tv for the whole hour!

If you have the Oxygen Channel, I suggest you watch an episode or two. If you are anything like me, you will be addicted to the show and will be wondering when the next show will air!

The 60 Minute News Show is a Classic

Guest written by our friend Donnie Donovan

The 60 Minutes news show is a classic all its own. This is my favorite news program that I watch every week on Direct tv. My favorite anchor person on there is Andy Rooney. I like his commentaries. Most of the time, they are hilarious. His sarcasm cracks me up every time.

My parents watch this show every week too. I like how they only take a couple of stories and talk about it in depth. They seem to go behind the scenes and get to the root of the stories. I like it when they take their hidden cameras, into places that otherwise you would not get to see. I also like the way that they follow up on the stories.

I think one of my favorite episodes was when they went undercover to see how many liquor stores were selling alcohol to minors. After they would go in with the undercover hidden cameras, they went back to the store and asked the store clerks, why they sold the alcohol to the minor. The store clerks would denied it. The news crew would then show them that they had proof on camera. When the local authorities saw this evidence on tape, they were able to crack down on those that broke the law.

This is the kind of action that draws my attention to watch this show every week. It makes me feel like I am part of the show.
